I am directed by secretary
Sir John Pakington to acquaint you
that an Ordinance no 10 of 1867 has been enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice of the Legislative Council
for the better prevention of Contagious
Diseases". – A clause in the ordinance
recites that it shall not come into operation
until Her Majesty'; confirmation shall
have been proclaimed in the Colony, and
the Ordinance has been therefore transmitted
to this Country for seech confirenation, and certain pecuniary
arrangements
proposed (the exact amount of which is
